LAMBORGHINI SUPERCRIT
The Lamborghini
SuperCrit,
in support of the Jayco Herald Sun tour, is shaping
up to be an exciting race with some of Australia’s
best A grade talent. Eighteen teams (a total of 90
riders in all) will compete on 14 October for
team and
individual honours.
Participating teams include the Malaysian National
Road Squad, Drapac Porsche, Inexa Sport and
Total Rush.
ACEM’s Managing Director, Ray Forbes, is pleased
with the response from shop teams and clubs.
ACEM
is dedicated to providing Australia’s A grade riders
with more opportunity to compete in team based
criteriums. Criterium racing is an action packed
form of racing and blending this with a team racing
structure benefits both riders and spectators. It’s
great to see so many teams participating in the
Lamborghini SuperCrit.
It will be an awesome event!
ACEM
is very pleased to have secured the sponsorship of
Lamborghini Australia. This is the first time
Lamborghini has entered into the sport of cycling.
The Lamborghini SuperCrit will showcase the
prestigious Gallardo sports car, valued at around
$500,000.
The Gallardo will be the official pace car for the
race.
Spectators should arrive at the event early (Lygon
Street, Carlton) to secure a good vantage point. The
Lamborghini
SuperCrit
starts at 11.15am and runs for one hour.
Presentations will follow the completion of the
race.

ACEM DELIVERS WINNING TEAM FOR PORTFOLIO
PARTNERS
Australian Criterium Event Management was
proud to have delivered a winning team at
the 2006
Jayco Bay Series in Victoria. The
team, sponsored by Portfolio Partners,
contained the talents of former Fdjeux
riders, Baden Cooke and Matt Wilson, and the
powerhouse of Hilton Clarke.
Hilton Clarke was second overall GC in the
2005 Bay Series and went one better in 2006
to win the overall GC title. His team mates
also delivered big results - Baden
Cooke was the winner of the Green jersey in
the 2003 Tour de France and Matt Wilson won
the Australian Open Road Championship in
2004. The team finished second overall in
the teams classification.
Portfolio Partners' managing director, Craig
Bingham, was thrilled by the team's result
especially since it was the company's first
step into team sponsorship at an elite
level.
